Zombies. Then Baby...
With the doctors telling us things were so close, I have been focused on getting things ready at work and at home. Only thing
is that planning in-store events around your labor date is impossible. On Tuesday, February 20th I was co-host to a Zombie
Survival Seminar at my store in Enfield. We had an amazing turnout - 50+ people. The event went amazing for us. Afterwards
the joke was now I could go have the baby.
I guess I took it to heart!
Labor? Oh now I know what they mean...
Contractions started at 7:20 AM...and woke me up on my first day to sleep in!They were coming every 10 minutes, so I called
Mike at Holyoke and with some good advise from Sheri (their Cafe Manager)I jumped into a hot shower to see if they continued.
They did! Mike came home from work and we called the Doctor. Doctor Bell who had seen me the day before had me go into WETU.
I placed a call to my Mom and we headed out to the hospital.
One we were in WETU, they found that I hadn't broken my water. We still assumed I was staying and Mike went out to the
car to get his book and see where Sandy, Kevin & Nana were. Before he came back the Midwife told me they were sending
me home. Let me say I was really confused. Since I hadn't broken my water she was planning on sending me home. I was about
to have Mike run out and stop Sandy from driving out, but within 30 seconds she came back in and said she didn't realize I
was having contractions and they would be getting me a room!
We were sent up to room W 1820 and I was hooked to a monitor and started to wait. Sandy & them arrived shortly after
and joined the wait. Kevin & Nana left when active labor started and hung out in the family room down the hall. Mike &
Sandy hung in there with me. Sandy said she wished she had a recording of us (I owe Michael a lot of sorrys for my sharp tongue
that day). I don't think I could have made it through without Mike & Sandy and Dr. Bell, who somehow managed to pull some
Jedi mind thing with me and got me to raise that X-wing Fighter, no wait have my baby!
