Most people have Baby Showers, but very few have Superhero Baby Showers. My Mother along with Diva's (Liz, Blue & Josephine)
and my sister-in-law, Tiffany planned my Baby Shower. February 18th in Attleboro, MA at a little place called Jaec's Cafe.
Having Artists as Friends!
The coolest thing about being creative is having creative friends. The invitations were handled by my dear friends Liz and
Blue. Knowing Mike & I and our love for comics they designed the perfect invitations. We're looking forward to adding
the art to Lex's bedroom.

From my understanding the images used for the invitation came from several sources. The Supergirl & Green Lantern are
from an upcoming comic by DC called The Brave and the Bold #2. The children are both from different issues of "Fables".
Liz did a composite in Photoshop and then inked and colored the whole piece. Her husband, Benn, added in the symbols to balance
the design.
February 18th
Somehow we managed to make it to the shower!The kindness of our friends and family is overwhelming. My Mom, sister-in-law
and friends did a lovely job with the decorations, games and food. Tiffany (S-in-L) made diaper cakes for center pieces topped
with onies for us to take home for the baby. Liz & Blue planned the games after they created the amazing invitations that
were recieved by everyone. And my Mom...what can I say, the woman is Wonder Woman! She went out of her way to make the shower
something special for Mike & I, even though it wasn't all cuties and baby, but very cool and superheroie!
I can't forget Mike's Mom, Mary Ann, who didn't forget I have a lot of Thank You notes to write, and supplied me with
already addressed envelopes for those who could attend.

My Mom decided on a location with the help of Tiffany and my brother, Sean.

Everyone has family, but we have a second family. One we probably see more then our birth families. It's our Barnes &
Noble Families in Enfield, CT and Holyoke, MA.
The Enfield Staff is hosted a working shower for me and baby Lex on Friday, February 16th at 5:00 PM. The kindness and
support I have received from the staff at our store has been overwhelming. I can't wait to show off our newest bookseller
to them when the time comes. I have to extend a special thank you to Paula & Kim for planning the shower itself, and to
all those who popped in and help celebrate - thank you! You are all wonderful and I don't think I could have made it through
the last 9 months without you!
Dinner with Family!
I think I have made it fairly clear that we have a ton of family (both blood and otherwise). Since not everyone could make
the shower in Eastern, MA Mike's step-mother, Louise and step-sisters Cher and Jenn made plans to take me out for dinner on
the following Sunday.
Update: Since Mr. Lex came early, this little event has been altered to fit our home coming. We'll be receiving 2 visits
from his Aunts and another visit from Gramma Louise & Grampa Curt.
